A couple years ago there were three people who were discontented with the condition the SuG fan communities were in on livejournal. There was no organization among them, and the mods for those communities seemed conveniently absent. Furthermore, the latest news about the band seemed scattered everywhere.
As a result, we set out to form a new community that could as a one-stop destination for up-to-date SuG news as well as anything the fans wanted to share. This was our goal, and this community was opened 2 years ago today.
Unfortunately, as time past we (the mods) came to be very busy and weren't able to update this community as regularly as we wanted to. We found that being an adult didn't grant us the luxury to focus as much time on fandom as we would have liked.
Other members have kept this community alive through their own contributions, and we're glad you decided to share what you had with this community. Never in a hundred years did I or the other two mods ever expect to get over 300 members, let alone have others contribute here.
Furthermore, while it has nothing to do with our efforts or this community, SuG has continued to increase in popularity, the other communities are still active, and there are now places all over the internet now where you can find the latest news about our favorite boys.

39papicoz will be closing. It was fun while it lasted. We hope you all enjoyed it too. We thank you for all the memories. I thank you for all the memories. But this community is no longer needed, and rather than see it fall into decay we have decided to close it down.
As of today, membership is closed. No new posts can be posted. In a few months time, this community will be deleted and its contents erased. Translations that were posted solely here by one of the mods will be moved somewhere else by me and I will post in one of the other communities where they have been moved to. As for the profiles, glossary, and other random things that were written up two years ago... you're all free to do whatever you wish with those. They'll be gone once this community is deleted, so if you wish to save that data please do so before then.
As for the fate ofheavy_positive, it's on indefinite hiatus. There are probably other places you can find blog translations these days, but we're not too sure. At any rate, we won't be deleting it, but we can't promise any future updates any time in the near future. (But I guess you could already guess that.)

Sorry we've been quiet lately - personally I've been busy with the kickstart university gave me a couple of weeks ago and a move to a whole new city, so updating hasn't been at the top of the priority list orz;;

2 You've probably noticed that the OHP was updated with a new group photo and profile pictures for the new single "Toy Soldier"! Check them out here.
The single comes out on the 26th of October in four versions. Version A comes with two tracks and a PV DVD; version B comes with two tracks and a DVD containing a "member feature" version of the PV (five different ones); version C has two tracks and a 26-page-photobook; and finally, the regular edition comes with three tracks and a trading card.
No previews are up yet.
3 The band is also releasing a live DVD in two versions: standard and limited. The concert in question is the May 1st C.C.Lemon Hall live. Standard edition includes 27 songs (including each title from Thrill Ride Pirates and the title song of Gimi Gimi). Limited edition comes with the same songs but also a bonus disk including a documentary and member interviews from during the tour and apparently an audio commentary by the members. The Limited edition also includes a 20-page fullcolor booklet.
Both versions are non cut and include all MC etc.

SuG is releasing a new single titled Toy Soldier on 26th of October. The single comes in four types.
Limited Edition type A comes with a bonus DVD.
Limited Edition type B comes with a bonus DVD.
Limited Edition type C comes with a photo book.
Regular Edition is the typical CD-only release.

SuG Tour 2011 TRIP ~welcome to Thrill Ride Pirates~
May 1st, 2011 at C.C. Lemon Hall
SuG's "TRiP~welcome to Thrill Ride Pirates~" tour culminated with their May 1st finale. Somewhere in the heart of busy shopping district Shibuya, the C.C. Lemon Hall was packed full with a young crowd eagerly waiting to find out what SuG had in store for them. And they were soon to find out!
When the SE "welcome II" started, four dancers bounced on stage waving green glowing bones in the air. Thrilled fans cheered loudly as takeru, masato, yuji, Chiyu and shinpei entered together and kicked off the show at full steam with "mad$hip", the opening track of the "Thrill Ride Pirates" album they released on March 9th. Throughout evening, the big screen behind the members projected various colorful animations, sucking the audience further into the band's universe. Next in line was another pop dance number "Fast Food Hunters" during which each member -even including the dancers- got a chance to take the center stage and demonstrate their skills with a short solo.

The OHP has been renewed with a new style. One word: strawberries.
Also, the next single ☆ギミギミ☆'s release date has been announced! The single drops on 16th of May. No further info is available for now, but it was previously revealed that the title song will be a theme for a movie.

Due to the havoc caused by the earthquake and tsunami, PS Company and Pony Canyon have added the event of the 14th day to the list of canceled events.

Everyone is probably aware of the grandiose earthquake which took place in the coast of northeastern Japan yesterday afternoon, and the tsunami that followed which caused havoc especially in Sendai. The first quake was strong enough to be felt all the way in Kyoto (according to a friend there), and in Tokyo several buildings gave in and people had to be evacuated.
Due to this, PS Company and Pony Canyon have decided to cancel all SuG's events in Tokyo (Tower Records, Brand-X and Joy Police). These events were to take place on the 11th, 12th, and 13th, but due to safety reasons they have been canceled for now. Originally only the 11th and 12th day events were to be canceled, but later on the 13th day one was added to the list.
The members have all posted on their blogs that they are alright, and Takeru was able to get in touch with Mitsuru, reporting that he's also okay despite having stayed in Tokyo.
The number of casualties is not yet clear, but the apparent number of deaths has slowly gone from tens to hundreds during the day. The area in Sendai where the tsunami hit the worst has not been reached.

SuG's new song 「☆ギミギミ☆」("☆gimigimi☆", release date not yet fixed) has been chosen as the theme song for a movie called 「ポールダンシングボーイ☆ず」("Pole dancing boy☆s"), which comes to theaters in May.
This also works as a hint on a new single release...... According to Takeru the song is a party tune.

SuG Standing Onemanshow 'crazy "LIVE" coaster'

2010 was a year in which SuG made great strides. In January they made their major debut with the single 'gr8 story'. They continued to release a steady stream of singles, and in all during 2010 they released 4 singles and 1 album. Ever since their major debut they soon became a record-setting band. One good example of this was their very first DVD single '無条件幸福論 / Mujoken Kofukuron'. Right after its release it became their first single to take the No.3 spot on the Oricon Singles Ranking.
The 5 members were constantly supported by their legion of staff and fans. Takeru said "Because of your support, we can smile." In 2010 SuG had many opportunities to interact with fans both in Japan and abroad. The concert tour SuG Standing Onemanshow 'crazy "LIVE" coaster' was the final tour of 2010. Both the members and the fans came together to make it a memorable one.
